Jackie Lyle, Psychology and Counselling
Jackie Lyle teaches our evening Introduction to Psychology and Counselling course.
Jackie left High School at 16 years old and became a young mum. Up until her son started school Jackie hadn’t focussed on her career, but once he moved into Primary one, Jackie felt the time was right to return to studying and started a course at her local College.
Jackie says “Attending College gave me the enthusiasm to learn again and was my stepping-stone to University to study Psychology. After I finished my degree, I worked in a variety of community organisations to gain experience working with children and young people. I then returned to University and graduated as an Educational Psychologist in 2011 and I am still currently working in this sector”. “When the opportunity came up to be a Lecturer, I jumped at the chance to work in a place that gave me the inspiration to follow my career path. I have been teaching the evening class for nearly four years now and enjoy every minute. I love being a South Lanarkshire College Lecturer because I love the enthusiasm and commitment of both students and staff to learn and reach their full potential”.
