Our Foundation Apprenticeship classes had a great time celebrating their success at their Graduation ceremony held on campus on Tuesday 18 April .
The College SLT, teaching staff and support staff were joined by the South Lanarkshire Council education team, along with employers, teachers, parents and carers of FA pupils from schools across the region to celebrate their success.
Foundation Apprenticeships continue to be delivered successfully at the College through our consortium partnership with South Lanarkshire council. FAs provide opportunities for school pupils to engage in college study, either in a school hub or right here on our campus, taking S5 and S6 pupils out of the classroom and into the workplace.
Foundation Apprenticeships provide school pupils with the skills employers are looking for and the experience needed to get a head start in their career.
During the ceremony six graduating FA pupils delivered outstanding presentations to the guests, they spoke of their experiences on their FA courses, and gave detailed accounts of the ways in which the programme had helped them achieve their next step goals. Among the cohort, we now have a future Midwives, Primary Teachers, and Business, and Creative Media students.
South Lanarkshire Council's Youth Employability Coordinator, Scott McDermott, said: “Everyone at South Lanarkshire Council is delighted to join South Lanarkshire College to celebrate the achievement of our Foundation Apprenticeship students, their success is a real testimony to their hard work and determination".
"Our Foundation Apprenticeship programme in South Lanarkshire continues to deliver excellent learning opportunities for pupils to reach their full potential and achieve their educational and employment aspirations.”
"A great day was had by all, and I'd like to say a massive thank you to all College staff who contributed to the pupils' success and helped deliver this fabulous event".
