Intro to the course:

This course is suitable  for  all employees and has been designed to encourage and promote a positive mental health culture in the workplace.  Led by a member of our experienced   Health and Social Care  Lecturing team    participants  will be provided with the knowledge to recognise a mental health condition , the skills to start a supportive conversation and how to signpost a person towards professional help.  Participants will receive a college certificate on completion.    Maximum of 12 per course.

Who is the course for?

Anyone who has an interest in increasing their awareness of mental health, 

What will I study?

How to recognise a Mental Health condition,  how to start a supportive conversation, how to signpost and support individual toward professional help. 

Next step course options

Participants may choose to progress to  Two day mental health course to become a Mental Health FIrst Aider. 

How will I be assessed?

 There is no specific assessment as such, however  participants will have the opportunity to practice skills learned and will receive feedback throughout.
