Intro to the course:

This short full time course in administrative activities has been specifically designed to equip you with practical skills and theoretical knowledge to ensure you succeed in the modern business world.  It is aimed at individuals who wish to learn or enhance their  IT and administration skills and who are motivated to learn skills essential to the effective working of a modern office at entry level, whilst providing skills that will prepare you for progression to higher level courses.  

The National Progression Award in Administrative Activities will give you hands on experience of key pieces of office equipment, develop communication skills with internal and external customers, and improve your skills in locating, retrieving information and developing IT skills to present information.

This course will provide you with skills, knowledge and capabilities needed for employment, whilst also providing multiple progression routes.  Our multi-talented team have extensive industry experience and will support you in the development of new skills, achievement of formal qualifications and practical experience  increasing your confidence and ability to progress to the next level, or secure employment. 

You will develop knowledge and understanding of effective working practices in a modern administrative and business environment, enabling you to provide a range of administrative support to an employer.  You will develop an understanding of using a range of software applications and will be introduced to planning and organisational skills.  An introduction to time management and the need for accuracy and efficiency in modern offices.  

Where can this course lead?

On successful completion of the course, it is envisaged that employment could be gained in the administration, business and commercial sector in one of the following job roles:

  • Administrative Assistant
  • Office Junior/Receptionist
  • Clerical Assistant

What are the entry requirements?

To join this course you will need a genuine interest in administrative and business skills.  No formal qualifications are required.  

Applications are encouraged from adult returners.  

If English is not your first language, ESOL at an appropriate level or IELTS or equivalent with an entry score of 5.5 or above is preferred.

If you do not meet the entry criteria for your chosen course, you may be offered an alternative course in the same subject area

What are the interview arrangements?

All applicants will be invited to attend a group interview and information session. If English is not your first language you will be invited to a language assessment to ensure you are placed on an appropriate level of course.

Fees for short full time is £1008

This course is eligible for Bursary.
