Gaining an insight into the concepts of psychology with individual and social behaviour. Understanding the nature and extent of crime , the history and development of criminology and gaining an understanding  of crime and it's effect on the community. . Gain further in depth knowledge relating to Politics and History, allowing you to consider how past and current events, impact today's society. 

 

Additionally, we support your academic skills development, critical thinking and IT development.

Who is the course for?

This course is a great starting point for individuals with a keen interest in social sciences and the world around us. It covers a vast array of topics that will help you go forward in education, social science and your career. 

The world is changing in so any ways, and this course can help you navigate those changes, gaining a better understanding of why things happen n our society. 

What will I study?

You will study a variety of psychology units include Social and Individual Psychology, gain further insight into politics and some of the factors that impact crime in our society. Whilst on the course, you will also develop your academic study skills to support progression to further study.

The review of contemporary issues alongside the ability to enhance your IT skills through the use of various programs . 

Teaching takes various formats including lectures, group work and discussion, independent research and external speakers.

This course has the potential to take you into our HND Social Science program. 

How will I be assessed?

A variety of assessment approaches are used including closed book assessments, presentations, reports and more. There is support available within the college for study skills.

This course allows you to expand your insight and knowledge on the past, current and future of society. Our course team will provide support and help you develop your skills and knowledge base. External speakers will attend to give their specialist insight into their areas of expertise.
