NPA CARPENTRY AND JOINERY

Intro to the course:

The NPA in Carpentry and Joinery at SCQF level 4 is suitable for those who wish to follow this as a career. 

This course introduces learners to general workplace health and safety, carpentry and joinery skills and the safe use of hand-tools and equipment, In addition, this NPA develops:

• knowledge and understanding of construction
• practical, technical and transferable skills
• oral, written and evaluation abilities
• resource management
• problem solving and planning
• organisational and communication skills

Who is the course for?

The NPA is suitable for:

• learners who may have just left or about to leave school
• mature candidates who may have been out of education for a long period of time and are seeking a recognised qualification
• individuals who are seeking national recognition of their achievements

Assessment of this award will be ongoing through a combination of practical work and knowledge assessments.

No formal entry requirements however an interest in craft and design at school would be advantageous.
