NPA CONSTRUCTION

Intro to the course:

The NPA Construction at SCQF level 5 is suitable for those who wish to follow a career in construction. The course introduces learners to several trades including bricklaying, painting & decorating, carpentry & joinery and plastering, also the safe use of hand-tools and equipment and workplace health & safety.

 In addition, this NPA develops knowledge and understanding of the construction industry; practical, technical and transferable skills; oral, written and evaluation abilities; resource management; problem solving and planning; organisational and communication skills.

The NPA is suitable for: 

• learners who may have just left or about to leave school 
• mature candidates who may have been out of education for a long period of time and are seeking a recognised qualification
• individuals who are seeking national recognition of their achievements

Assessment of this award will be ongoing through a combination of practical work and knowledge assessments.

No formal entry requirements however and interest in Craft and Design at school would be advantageous.
