This course is designed for adults who require additional support for learning. The focus of all our courses is to develop core skills and promote independent living, personal development and employability skills. We work with local employers and voluntary agencies to provide work placements for the students.

Who is the course for?

This course is designed for adults who require additional support for learning who are looking to progress onto employment.

What will I study?

This course will equip you with the confidence, skills, knowledge and understanding to enter the world of work by developing your core and employability skills. You will learn elements including customer service, enterprise, problem solving, financial capability and communication.

Next step course options

There's possible progression to mainstream courses of study, voluntary work and employment.

How will I be assessed?

Ongoing assessment in a range of practical and classroom based activities and through the successful completion of an external work placement.

Why should I choose this course?

This course will help build essential skills in communication, literacy, numeracy and IT. Students will develop employability and transferable skills in a work placement.

What are the entry requirements?

Entry to this course is subject to one or more of the following: 

  • you should be able to work independently, participate in small group activities and communicate at Level 4
  •  you'll be invited to interview prior to any offer of a place being made
