IT skills a little rusty?  Are you looking to explore Microsoft Applications:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint?  Do you use these applications and are now looking for ways to improve your productivity at work or home?  

With the demand for digitally literate employees, all adults regardless of age or ability can now access qualifications. If you are feeling left behind, are looking to update your IT skills, or are thinking of making a career change, taking this recognised BCS qualification is a great way to update your skills and give yourself a head start in the jobs market.

This is an internationally recognised IT qualification, ICDL (previously known as ECDL).  You will be introduced to Microsoft Office applications using interactive online materials and you will learn how to plan, evaluate and improve procedures involving the use of IT tools and systems to improve the productivity and efficiency of work activities. This course will help you grow in confidence and unlock the full potential of your computer and may provide a range of job opportunities across various sectors.

Who is the course for?

This course is suitable for anyone wishing to learn and to enhance their skills in using Microsoft Office.

What will I study?

This is a fully interactive taught course with some  face to face teaching  in College and access to College facilities for essential online learning

 You can select to study any of the following units:

  • word processing 
  • spreadsheets 
  • presentations 

You will receive Certification from BCS on completion of the course

Completion of an additional unit, Improving productivity using IT, will result in achievement of the group award:  ICDL Extra

Successful completion may also give you access to a range of higher level courses

How will I be assessed?

There are 4 final assessments in total, each taking 45-60 mins to complete. Assessments are generally held on Tuesday evenings however alternative days may be agreed subject to demand.

The cost of this course includes BCS registration. certification for each unit achieved,  practice tests,  assessments, all course materials  and class based tutor support.
