NPA PAINTING AND DECORATING

Intro to the course:

The NPA in Painting and Decorating at SCQF level 5 is suitable for those who wish to follow this as a career. The course introduces learners to general workplace health and safety, a range of painting and decorating tasks such as decorative painting and the safe use of hand-tools and equipment. 

In addition, this NPA develops knowledge and understanding of the construction industry; practical, technical and transferable skills; oral, written and evaluation abilities; resource management; problem solving and planning; organisational and communication skills.

Who is the course for?

The NPA is suitable for: 

• learners who may have just left or about to leave school 
• mature candidates who may have been out of education for a long period of time and are seeking a recognised qualification 
• individuals who are seeking national recognition of their achievements

How will I be assessed?

Assessment of this award will be ongoing through a combination of practical work and knowledge assessments.

What are the entry requirements?

No formal entry requirements however and interest in Craft and Design at school would be advantageous.
